Scientific Background

DSIP was first characterized as a nine-amino-acid peptide in rabbit cerebral venous plasma during experimental thalamic stimulation associated with sleep. Subsequent investigations identified DSIP-like immunoreactivity in the central nervous system, plasma and several peripheral tissues.

Experimental studies have examined its possible involvement in sleep architecture, circadian regulation, neurotransmitter activity and neuroendocrine signaling. However, findings have not been consistent across all experimental models, and its precise physiological role and mechanism of action remain under investigation.

For this reason, DSIP should be presented exclusively as a laboratory research material and not as a proven sleep treatment or therapeutic product.
